Knowledge Mapping for Industrial Purposes at Unilever
Knowledge
management is rapidly becoming a critical success factor for competitive
organizations. Carrying out knowledge management effectively in an industrial
environment requires support from a repertoire of methods, techniques and tools;
in particular knowledge engineering technology adapted for knowledge management.
This article explains what knowledge maps are, how they can be created, and what
software tools are available. In addition, we present two Unilever case studies
to demonstrate the added value of knowledge mapping.
